Effective October 12, 2026.

Elevate Chimney is a chimney and fireplace company at 1033 Walnut St Suite 211 in Boulder, Colorado. This page explains, in plain language, what happens to information you hand us through this website. We have tried to write it the way we would explain it standing on your porch, because a policy nobody can read protects nobody.

The short version

We collect what you type into our forms so we can call you back about a chimney. We use a small amount of anonymous traffic measurement, and only after you agree to it. We do not sell your information to anybody, and we never have. If you want your record gone, email us and it is gone.

What we collect

What you tell us on purpose

When you ask for a quote or book an inspection, our form asks for your name, phone number and email address, and depending on the form it may ask for your street address, city, ZIP code, the kind of property, the service you need, when you would like us out, how urgent it is, how you prefer to be contacted, and anything you write in the message box. Every one of those fields exists because it changes how we schedule or price the visit. Nothing on the form is collected for resale.

If you apply for a job through the careers form, we collect what that form asks and we keep it with the application rather than mixing it into our customer records.

What you tell us by writing to us

If you use the chat window on the site, we receive the messages you send and any contact details you choose to put in them, so that a real person can reply. Treat the chat like a postcard rather than a vault: it is a fine place to describe a smoking fireplace and a poor place to type a card number, and we will never ask you for payment details there.

What your browser mentions in passing

Like most websites, our server records ordinary request information such as the page asked for, the time, the general type of browser and an IP address. That is a side effect of how the web works, and it is what lets us notice that a page is broken.

Beyond that, we use Google Analytics to count visits and, when the business is running ads, Google Ads measurement. Both stay switched off until you choose otherwise. The consent banner you saw on arrival controls this, and the default position before you touch it is that analytics and advertising storage are denied. If you decline the banner or simply ignore it, those measurement scripts are never loaded at all.

The spam check on our forms

Our quote form is protected by Google reCAPTCHA, which looks at how a submission behaves in order to judge whether a human sent it. This means Google receives information about that interaction, governed by Google's own privacy terms. We keep the resulting score beside the request so we can tell a real homeowner from a robot, and that is the only use we make of it.

If you sign in with Google

Parts of the site, such as checking the status of your own request or a giveaway entry, let you sign in using your Google account. When you do, we receive your name, your email address and your profile picture from Google. We never receive your password, and we use those details only to recognise you when you come back.

If you enter a giveaway

When we run a giveaway and you enter, we record the name and email you enter with, a nickname and town if you supply them, how you shared your referral link and how many people followed it, and whether you agreed to be photographed if you win. If you ask us to tell you about future giveaways, we keep your name and email for that purpose until you ask us to stop.

Why we have it at all

To call or text you back about the chimney you asked about. To find your house. To schedule the visit and quote the work honestly. To answer a question you actually asked. To keep a record of work we performed, which matters later when somebody wants to know what was done to their chimney three seasons ago. To run a giveaway fairly if you entered one. And to understand, in aggregate and anonymously, which pages of this site are useful. That is the complete list.

Cookies and the banner

A cookie remembers the choice you made on the consent banner, so that we are not asking you the same question on every page. If you allow measurement, Google sets its own cookies for counting visits. You can clear cookies whenever you like in your browser settings, and you can change your mind about consent by clearing them and reloading the site. Declining costs you nothing: every page, form and phone number on this site works exactly the same either way.

Who else sees it

A short and honest list. Our website runs on a rented server, so the hosting provider necessarily stores whatever the site stores. New requests are forwarded to our crew by email and by a private Telegram message, so that somebody sees them before the next morning. Google receives the analytics and spam check information described above. If you sign in with Google, Google knows that you did.

Beyond that we share nothing, except in the two situations every business has to allow for: where the law genuinely requires it of us, and if we ever sold the business, in which case customer records would pass to whoever took it over with this promise still attached to them.

We do not sell your details. We do not rent them, trade them, or hand them to lead brokers. We are not in that business, and we think poorly of those who are.

How long we keep it

Service requests stay with us while they are useful for the job, for warranty questions afterwards and for our own records, and older entries roll out of the active system over time. Giveaway entries are kept through the giveaway and a sensible period after it is drawn. Anything you ask us to delete, we delete, apart from the record of work actually performed, which we may be obliged to keep.

How it is looked after

Your information lives on our own server rather than being scattered across a dozen marketing platforms, the site is served over an encrypted connection, and the parts of the system holding customer records sit behind a password. No website can promise perfect security and we are not going to be the first to pretend otherwise, but we keep little, we keep it in one place, and we do not pass it around.

Your choices

You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to erase it. You can tell us to stop contacting you and we will. You can refuse or withdraw consent to measurement without losing access to anything at all. Colorado residents have rights of this kind under state law, and rather than argue about whether a company our size is formally captured by it, we would simply rather honour the request. Write to office@elevatechimney.com or call and ask for whoever is at the desk, and give us enough detail to find your record.

Children

This site is meant for adults arranging work on a building. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent us something, tell us and we will remove it.

Changes

If we change how any of this works, we will change this page and move the date at the top of it. We will not quietly begin doing something this page says we do not do.
