Effective October 12, 2026.

These terms cover your use of elevatechimney.com, operated by Elevate Chimney of 1033 Walnut St Suite 211, Boulder, Colorado. Using the site means you are content with what follows. It is short, because a chimney company does not need twelve pages of it.

What this website is

It is a place to learn what we do, read what we have written about fire and masonry at altitude, and ask us to come out. It is marketing and it is education, and we have tried to make the education genuinely useful rather than a thin wrapper around a phone number.

What this website is not

Nothing here is a professional opinion about your particular chimney. Our guides describe how flues, liners, caps and mortar generally behave in Boulder, which is useful background and is not the same thing as somebody putting a camera up your own flue. A chimney is a fire containment system bolted to a house, and the only responsible way to say anything definite about yours is to look at it. Please do not treat an article as a reason to postpone an inspection, and please do not read anything written here as a safety clearance.

Nothing on this site is a price. We do not publish figures, because the honest number depends on the roof, the flue and what the camera finds, and how we arrive at a quote explains why at greater length.

Asking us out, and what that means

Submitting a form or leaving a message is a request. It is not a booking and it is not a contract. It becomes an appointment when somebody from our crew confirms a time with you. We will do our best to reach you quickly, but nothing on this site guarantees availability on a particular day, and a busy week in October is a real thing.

When we do quote work, the quote arrives in writing, after we have looked, and it is itemised. The number in that quote is the number, and it does not grow quietly between the handshake and the invoice. If we open a job and genuinely find something nobody could have foreseen, we stop and talk to you before another dollar accrues.

The free inspection

We offer a camera inspection at no charge and with no obligation. Free means free: no trip fee, no report fee, and declining the resulting quote costs you nothing. The findings are yours to keep, to show another contractor, or to hand to an agent. What it is not is a warranty or a certificate. It is our honest reading of a chimney's condition on the day we looked at it, and chimneys carry on ageing after we drive away.

Work we actually perform

These terms govern the website. Work at your property is governed by the quote and the agreement you sign for that work, which set out the scope, the price and anything else that matters. Where this page and a signed agreement disagree about the work, the signed agreement wins.

Giveaways

From time to time we run a giveaway. When we do, the rules published with that particular giveaway govern it, including who may enter and how a winner is drawn. We may end or alter a giveaway if circumstances require it, and we will say so plainly rather than letting it quietly disappear.

Accounts

If you sign in to check your own request or giveaway entry, keep that sign in to yourself and tell us if anything about your account looks wrong. We may close an account being used to abuse the site or anybody on it.

What belongs to whom

The words, photographs, video and design on this site are ours. The job photographs in particular were taken by our crew on real Boulder rooftops, and the writing was done by the same people who climb them. Please do not republish them as your own work. If you want to quote a passage with a link back, that is welcome. If you want to use a photograph, ask us, and the answer will usually be yes.

Other people's websites

We occasionally link out to a manufacturer, a standards body or a public agency, because it is genuinely the better source. We do not control those sites and we are not answerable for what they do or say.

Accuracy and availability

We write carefully and we correct what we get wrong, but we do not promise that every word here is free of error, nor that the site will be reachable every minute of the year. Standards change, products change, and a server occasionally has a bad afternoon. If you spot something wrong on this site, telling us is a kindness and we will fix it.

Limits

So far as Colorado law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of this website, such as action taken purely on the strength of an article rather than an inspection. That paragraph is about the website. It does not limit our responsibility for work our crew performs at your property, which is where our real obligations live and where we would rather be judged.

Which law applies

Colorado law governs these terms, and the courts of Boulder County are the place to settle anything that cannot be settled by a phone call. We would much prefer the phone call, and in our experience it almost always works.

Changes

We may update these terms, and when we do, the date at the top changes with them. Carrying on with the site after that means the updated version applies.
